What does B.L.A. stand for?

What does KMFDM stand for?

No really, what does B.L.A. stand for?

Brunch Line Assembly.

Which is...

It's the San Francisco Bay Area's only regularly-meeting industrial brunch of which we are currently aware.

What is "industrial"?

What does KMFDM stand for?

So what's an industrial brunch?

It's a weekly rivethead gathering where we destroy organic material with our teeth and metal (or plastic) implements.

Do you eat nuts and bolts and scrap metal?

Yes.

I was at the one-year brunch at Michelle's place. Is brunch usually like that?

No! That was a special occassion. We usually go to a restaurant and everyone pays their own way. Average attendance is about 10 rather than 80.

How do you pick the restaurants?

Someone just suggests a place and off we go. Sometimes it doesn't get decided until very late, like 2 AM the night before. Ideally, the restaurant should meet these criteria:

  • It serves breakfast/brunch until at least 3 PM
  • It can potentially seat a dozen or so people together

How did it all get started?

It was all Maria's idea.

Who's Maria?

You sure ask a lot of questions, don't you?

Well, it is a FAQ.

So what's your point?

I've had enough
